Help Wanted: Part-time office assistant
The Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) seeks a part-time office assistant to perform support for the TNCPE award program and Board of Examiners. Hiree will provide on-site assistance with TNCPE's annual 2-day conference and awards banquet (held in late February), training seminars (year-round), and various other duties as required.
The position provides the opportunity to learn about businesses throughout the state and interact with professionals. Learn about performance excellence practices and the Baldrige-based assessment process, and be involved in the day-to-day operations of non-profit corporation.
- Project management experience
- Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office products including Word, Power Point, Excel and Access
- Experience/ability to manage web-based applications
Applicants must be professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality. Efficient/accurate data entry and tracking is key.
TNCPE will work with hiree to develop a standard schedule of 16-20 hours per week during business hours (M-F 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) Attendance is required at some events. The TNCPE office is located in the Donelson area.

Using the framework of an awards program, TNCPE provides in-depth, low-cost assessments of regional organizations using the Baldrige Excellence Framework. Through a methodology based on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, organizations receive detailed feedback that they use to improve their processes and results. To accomplish this, TNCPE trains a volunteer force of Examiners to evaluate organizations.
