Going Baldrige Green™: Achieving corporate sustainability

C1: From Emerging to Expert: Implications of the 2009-2010 Baldrige Criteria

3:15 - 4:30 p.m.
This session will focus on the three most significant changes to the 2009-2010 Criteria, Customer Engagement, Core Competencies and Sustainability/Societal Responsibility. The Criteria strive to remain at the "leading edge of validated management practice." What do these additions, changes in emphasis, and redefinitions mean for organizations that are also seeking to be at the leading edge of performance excellence?

Presented by Jeff Lucas, Deputy Director, Baldrige National Quality Program

C2: Of Course I Have a Balanced Scorecard. Now What?

3:15 - 4:30 p.m.
Companies who have participated in Baldrige or TNCPE are familiar with the concept of a Balanced Scorecard and recognize the importance of tracking performance indicators. This session is intended to address what comes next -- how to use Balanced Scorecard or other performance measures to drive organizational excellence. We will cover effective processes for organizational performance reviews, establishing meaningful measures at the appropriate levels in an organization, and integrating metrics review and root cause analysis into your current management calendar.

Presented by Heather Schoch, Compliance Officer, CIGNA Government Services

C3: 2009 Excellence Winner: Best Practice sharing with Mountain States Health Alliance

3:15 - 4:30 p.m.
Hear leaders from Mountain States Health Alliance recount their excellence story, including best practices and improvement initiatives.

Presented by Mountain States Health Alliance

C4: Performance Excellence and Entrepreneurship

3:15 - 4:30 p.m.
The application of performance excellence principles in entrepreneurial environments may not seem practical or even doable up front, but in fact the opposite is true. When forming any organization, building it upon a solid foundation is critical to its sustainability. This talk, based on real world experience, will center on the benefits of applying the Baldrige Criteria to small business and entrepreneurial efforts.

Presented by David Jones, Co-founder, Edamar, Inc.

C5: Going Baldrige Green:™ Achieving corporate sustainability

3:15 - 4:30 p.m.
Corporate sustainability planning has risen in prominence over the past few years among leading organizations as a tool to achieve strategic dominance within the global marketplace.

This workshop will help participants use the Baldrige Criteria to identify their organization's corporate sustainability/social responsibility issues by learning how to conduct an in-house self-assessment.

Participants will learn how to identify key economic, environmental, and social issues that impact their organization's corporate sustainability. In addition, they will learn to develop a Baldrige-based corporate sustainability plan.
