2010 Examiner Training

It has been called a “mini MBA,” and some refer to it as the best-run professional development training available in Tennessee. Best of all, it’s free.

By serving as a 2010 TNCPE examiner, you will experience in-depth training in the Criteria for Performance Excellence, work with regional business leaders and have an opportunity to see how some of the best organizations in Tennessee are run.

Apply to the 2010 Board of Examiners

We are no longer accepting applications to the 2010 TNCPE Board of Examiners. Applications for the 2011 BOE will be available in January.

2010 3-Day Examiner Training Classes

To serve as a TNCPE examiner, you must attend a 3-day examiner training class. TNCPE holds a series of these classes in cities across the state. During class examiners learn how to conduct each phase of a TNCPE/Baldrige assessment: independent review, the consensus process, site visit and, finally an award level recommendation. To give you an idea of our summer training schedule, the 2009 class schedule is listed below.

Nashville June 29-July 1
Oak Ridge July 13-15
Memphis July 27-29

Annual TNCPE Excellence Conference and Awards Banquet

The Conference

The annual Excellence in Tennessee Conference is structured to be both inspirational and practical. You'll learn performance improvement techniques from speakers who will energize you and your workforce. From Baldrige to LEAN to process management and more, the TNCPE conference is a meeting point where the performance-minded develop skills and network.

The Banquet

Held in conjunction with the Excellence Conference, the Excellence in Tennessee Awards Banquet is a gala event where regional organizations are recognized for their achievements in the pursuit of organizational excellence. State dignitaries hand out awards honoring companies and individuals that have reached the high standards of the Baldrige-based program run by TNCPE.

During the banquet, hundreds gather to honor the organizations who completed the TNCPE award application processes. Excellence, Commitment, Achievement or Interest Awards are handed out, based on participating organizations' level of achievement.

This is also the night when TNCPE gives out individual awards: The Ned R. McWherter Leadership Award honors an individual who exemplifies outstanding leadership in the pursuit of performance excellence. The Champion of Excellence Award recognizes the accomplishments of an individual who has been a role model in the pursuit of performance excellence within his or her organization.
