Renee Tew (c) accepts the 2011 Champion of Excellence Award with TNCPE President Katie Rawls (l) and 2010 COE Award winner Heather Schoch (r)

Renee Tew, Director of Quality Improvement at Maury Regional Medical Center, is TNCPE’s third Champion of Excellence Award recipient. She was honored Feb. 23, 2010, for her accomplishments as a key driver in the pursuit of performance excellence within MRMC.

Renee has excelled at leading MRMC’s improvement efforts, guiding the organization through several rounds of the TNCPE Award application and feedback process. MRMC earned TNCPE’s highest honor, the Excellence Award, in 2009.

As MRMC’s director of quality improvement, Renee sets an expectation for excellence throughout the hospital system, and she is a true practitioner: She has served on the TNCPE Board of Examiners for three years. As a TNCPE Award Application writing workshop instructor, she shares her knowledge by coaching other applicants.

Nominations for the Champion of Excellence Award are solicited from TNCPE members and member organizations. The award recipient is selected by the executive committee and confirmed by the full board of directors, and the award is presented at the annual TNCPE Awards Banquet.
